You will devise your THESIS for the paper. The thesis (or statement of the research question for the paper) is a tight construction of generally no more than one or two sentences that
· a.) states what you are going to be discussing in the paper (its topic), and
· b.) what it is that the paper will seek to discover or discern about the topic. In other words, this is the subject of our paper and here is the interesting question we seek to answer about this subject in our research and analysis presented in the paper. Your thesis statement should make a clear point about what you are going to discuss and why is it important. The thesis statement should be clear and simple but never dull. You want the readers to really want to read your paper especially after all the research you have conducted and the critical analysis effort you have put into it.
