This year we will be completing a service learning project examining the health of the Chicago river water that is at Clark Park. On Wednesday May 25th, we will conducting chemical analysis tests in class that examine the health of the river water. We will be testing the nitrate levels, phosphate levels, pH, and more. We will be collecting this class data and then uploading the information to the Friends of the Chicago River database that monitors water health throughout Chicago.
For this project you will be creating a Powerpoint/Google Slides presentation that examines how various chemical aspects of the river can affect the wildlife living in the water. You will need to complete research on ion sources in the water supply and determine their effects on the river’s health. All of the information that you will need can be seen on your rubric attached to this assignment. You will also need to cite your sources (simply provide the link where you got your info from).
